Jason L Brown was born in Sioux Falls, SD and grew up in the Harrisburg, SD school district. Jason is married to his wife Amber, together they have three children: Dallas (23), Haleigh (22) and Reagen (16). His hobbies include anything to do with sports, coaching, and camping with family and friends. Jason is currently the 114th Security Forces Operations Superintendent at the South Dakota Air National Guard in Sioux Falls, SD. In these roles he advises leadership on all issues regarding operations, utilization of enlisted personnel, management of resources and assets, anti-terrorism, integrated defense risk management and security forces program information and implementation. He has twenty-three years of total military service, which includes multiple federal and state active-duty missions and deployments.

Jason has a passion for sports and loves to be a part of coaching / mentoring the youth to be their best selves. He is currently the SDVFW Director of Baseball Operations and is in his third year as an assistant football coach at West Central High School. He enjoys giving back within the local community, which is why on his days off he works as a substitute teacher in the West Central School district. Prior to coaching at the high school level, he spent twelve years volunteer coaching youth football and baseball in Sioux Falls, SD. In addition, he has directed and assisted in multiple youth football camps and assisted in weight training programs for student athletes.

Throughout his youth and high school career, Jason competed in multiple sports to include baseball, football, basketball and track. He went on to compete as a two-sport athlete at The University of Sioux Falls. He majored in History with a minor in coaching. His college career included playing football at USF for three years and was a member of the 1996 National Championship team. He also played college baseball at USF for four years earning three all-conference awards as a pitcher / middle infielder. Jason has played baseball for over 35 years and on occasion, still plays SD Amateur Baseball.

Jason’s overall goal is to give back to the community by sharing his knowledge, experience and passion for the game with today’s youth. He would like to help develop a culture that teaches the fundamentals of the game combined with the development of good character, understanding that today’s youth are future leaders.
